Dubai-based Manoj (name and location changed) is a 38-year-old proud father of two. After being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in late 2021, he was undergoing a regime of multiple cycles of Chemo (DARA-VTD), with a plan to go for autologous stem cell transplant.
While Multiple Myeloma treatment has standardized care protocols and care can be delivered via a local provider, it is important to seek second or even multiple opinions from experts to address concerns from time to time. Manoj and his wife reached out to us, and we helped them engage with one of the leading Haematologists in India. Our specialist helped answer questions related to aspects such as Chromosomal mutations (e.g. 1p and 14q), concerns about thalidomide dosage, blood pressure management, transplant journey, and care after transplant.
Most of all, our specialist addressed concerns around the care journey that the couple were unable to ask in the midst of therapy and treatment. The couple greatly benefited from the consult and were very thankful to Me2MD. A follow-up consult has been planned to be held just before the stem cell transplant.
